What to check before you buy
- Check which coins are available and the leverage on crypto. It is usually far lower than on forex.
- Ask whether crypto positions can be held over the weekend, when the rest of the market is closed.
- Compare spreads and swap or funding costs on crypto. They can be large relative to the daily loss limit.
Frequently asked questions
Can I trade crypto 24/7 on a prop account?
Some firms allow it, others restrict weekend trading or holding. Check the firm's weekend and holding rules for crypto specifically.
Is crypto leverage the same as forex?
Usually not. Crypto leverage on prop accounts is normally much lower because of volatility.
